Green Glass Onion Bottle

Green Glass Onion Bottle

$ 53.00

This Piece is a Historical Reproduction. This Green Glass Onion Bottle is modeled after a historical artifact discovered in Jamestown, Virginia dating back to anywhere between 1680 and 1730. The bottle’s design was an answer to tavern owners seeking a bottle less prone to breakage compared to earlier glass bottles. Featuring a bulbous, onion shaped body, from which its name is derived; this bottle has a broad base and short neck, providing much needed stability.

Individually hand blown, the Green Glass Onion Bottle holds more than just wine and spirits – but also historical Colonial accuracy as it is green, the natural color of glass.

Approximately 8'' tall. Holds approximately 56 ounces of liquid. Made in the USA. Wash with warm water. Do not put this item in a dishwasher or oven. It is temperature sensitive.
