The Food Of Love

The Food Of Love

$ 72.95

Music and love are perfectly intertwined in this famous opening line from one of Shakespeare's most loved comedies, Twelfth Night; or, What You Will. The title refers to the twelfth night after Christmas, the feast of Epiphany, primarily a Christian festival, but also in Shakespeare's time a night of revelry and masque. This provides a basis for the plot, which revolves around music, love, mistaken identity and disguise. The quote is finely engraved on a ribbon of precious metal forming a treble or G clef, reflecting the message.

Sterling silver. From William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night: "If music be the food of love play on". Pendant: 1-5/8" long. Chain length: 18".
