Fishing Lure Socks

Fishing Lure Socks

$ 12.00

In the 1600s men wore stockings that looked great with the knee-length breeches they wore. Well-dressed men of means sported stockings of silk, some with gold or silver embroidery that sparkled in candlelight and dazzled in daylight. Silk or embroidered garters tied at the knee held the stockings in place which fit snugly on the leg. Everyone appreciated the sight of a well-turned calf. Sigh. Stockings got boring somewhere along the way (early 19th century or so) and stayed that way for a very long time. But the color-loving spirit of the 17th-century shines through a little bit in this whimsical pair of socks that pair well as a gift with the rustic fishing kit.

He may not be ready to start a trend in knee-length breeches, but the special guy in your life could get hooked on these fun socks. (Hint: If he does, it makes it easy to get him a gift for every holiday and hobby.)
