Amor vincit omnia (Love Conquers All)
This necklace is adapted from a ring, now in the collection of the British Museum. It is engraved in Latin 'love conquers all' in period script. The full quote from the Roman poet Virgil's Eclogues X, 69 dated to 38 BCE is 'omnia vincit amor et nos cedars amori' or 'love conquers all; let us too, yield to love!' A passionate declaration that speaks to us across the centuries and is sure to inspire the adventurous.
Sterling silver. Inscribed in Latin on front: "Amor vincit omnia." English translation inscribed on back: "Love conquers all." Pendant: 7/8" long. Chain length: 18".
