Brewster Spoon

Brewster Spoon

$ 42.00

This replica pewter spoon is cast from a mold dating back to around 1740. The mold has been handed down by descendants of Mayflower passenger Elder William Brewster, for many generations.

This mid-rib, rat-tail spoon is distinctive of this period when the longer, less round, more delicate spoon bowl gained acceptance. It is a classic design not only popular in the pewter "poor man's silver" of our forefathers, but maintains its popularity even today.

This spoon and the original "Brewster Spoon" are nearly identical, differing only in the superior quality of the pewter used here and the maker's touchmark L on the back. Each of these beautiful "modern antiques" is individually hand-cast and finished.
