Maple Trencher

Maple Trencher

$ 38.00

From the old French word tranchier  "to cut", trenchers were commonly used in medieval times as a plate for stews and porridges. The small round indentation off to the side is a receptacle for salt to season the meal. Our trenchers are faithful reproductions and are handmade in Canada to exact specification. Trencher size and grain may vary slightly. Approximately 7" x 7" x 1/2".
