Une dezir (One Desire)
This ring is a replica of a handmade ring in the Museum of London and dates to the middle of the 15th century. It is probably English, although engraved in French which was the language of the English court until well into the mid-1400s. The words are interspersed with three wheat sheaves - the symbol of plenty, and three leaf fronds. It was originally enameled but is now antiqued so that it can be worn on a daily basis. The passionate phrase of love engraved on the ring is a tribute to the strength of love.
