This bookmark, handwoven in a weaver's home, represents a handcraft 13,000 years old. Inspired by spider webs, beaver dams and bird nests, early people wove fibers into mats and baskets and, later, clothing, tents and ship sails on frames called looms.

This small weaving was made on an Inkle Loom which was used in the British Isles to weave needed harness, suspenders, belts, straps and ties for clothing. Inkle is the Scottish word for braid. Inkle belts were often called Inkles. Now you know an inkling and inkle!

Sold separately. Color availability may vary.
