Mayflower Slipware Ornament
This custom ornament was designed by Irma Starr, a Kansas City artisan that has been bringing the past traditions of working in clay into the present for over 40 years. Our Mayflower piece was produced using 17th-Century English slipware techniques, including feathering, marbling and slip-trailing. Ms. Starr has had her work featured in many leading Museum Shops, including the Smithsonian, and in 1999 was commissioned to create an ornament for the annual White House Christmas Tree.
