J. Brewster Spoon

J. Brewster Spoon

$ 42.00

The original of this reproduction spoon was from the estate of Deacon Wrestling Brewster. He was descended from Johnathan Brewster eldest son of Elder William Brewster. It is very likely this spoon came on the Mayflower with the Elder.

Flat stem spoons with round bowls and straight handles were known as Puritan spoons. They were made in England and Holland in the late 1500's and very early 1600's.

This spoon and the original "J. Brewster Spoon" are nearly identical, differing only in the superior quality of the pewter used here and the maker's touchmark L on the back. Each of these beautiful "modern antiques" is individually hand-cast and finished.

  • 7" L x 2.25" W
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Lead-free pewter
