These reproduction 17th-century earthenware plates are coated with slip then carved so darker clay beneath shows through. When the piece is glazed and fired the decorative carvings appear on the surface. Perfect as decorative pieces, they are also food safe and make excellent serving pieces. Handmade by a member of our Interpretative Artisans Program in the Crafts Center here at Plimoth Patuxet, each is slightly different. Not all designs may be available at all times. Sold individually.
