Delft Cat Tea Bag Holder

Delft Cat Tea Bag Holder

$ 12.00

After many fruitless attempts to replicate the pure white used in Chinese porcelain, in the early 1600s, Holland became the first European country to eventually discover that the addition of tin would produce ceramics with a true white background. That discovery occurred in Delft — a town in the Netherlands. We know from inventories taken at their deaths, several of the Pilgrims owned delft dishes.

Hand-painted in traditional blue and white, this Delft cat will happily hold your tea bag or stirring spoon, protecting your surfaces from stains, while also adding a touch of whimsy to your tea set. Also makes a great ring dish!

  • 4" x 3" x 1/4"
  • Hand-painted with environmentally responsible paints and glazes
  • Imported from Holland
