Hawk Arrow

$ 12.95

When Native people trap and hunt, they participate in elaborate ceremonies of grieving for the animals and honoring their souls in preparation for their journey into the spirit world. Native people do this for every living thing they take from Nature, even trees.

The woodland animal furs on display are all wild-caught furs, trapped in traditional methods which kill the animal instantly. The animals’ numbers are protected by state, provincial, and reservation law. The trapping of animals is part of the way of life of the Wampanoag People, which has continued for over 12,000 years.
